Raw Scan Archive
Let’s be real: AI can’t replicate friction. It can’t replicate the way a human hand shakes or the specific way a piece of foil catches the light when you drag a scanner over it at 2 AM.
I’m obsessed with the "sampling" culture of 90s Hip Hop - taking something real, something raw, and flipping it into something new. That’s exactly how I built the RAW SCAN ARCHIVE. I took a handheld document scanner and went to work on stacks of old paper, industrial foils, and packaging.
Because I was moving the scanner by hand, I captured all those beautiful "mistakes" the scan lines, the motion blur, and the grit that you only get from physical movement. No algorithms, no prompts. Just me, a scanner, and a bunch of textures sampled from reality.
